Es este artículo os quiero presentar los modelos de coches que he hecho desde cero para jugar a Fórmula D.

In this article I want to introduce you to the model cars I have made from scratch to play Formula D.

Los voy a ir presentando desde el más reciente al más antiguo. Algunos los hice porque me gusta el modelo en concreto, por si historia y otros me los han pedido. Y como este mundo de diseñar, imprimir, pintar y jugar es para mi una pasión, lo hago con mucha satisfacción.

I am going to present them from the most recent to the oldest. Some of them I made because I like the model in particular, for its history, and others I have been asked to make. And as this world of designing, printing, painting and playing is a passion for me, I do it with great satisfaction.

Ya sé, las fotos no son muy bonitas y los coches lucen mucho más pintados, pero es que para este post quería enseñar los modelos tal cual salen de la impresora 3D para que se aprecien bien sus detalles.

I know, the pictures are not very pretty and the cars look much better painted, but for this post I wanted to show the models as they come out of the 3D printer so that you can see the details.

Porsche 917

 

Este magnífico coche hizo historia en Lemans. Ganó varios años seguidos y es uno de mis preferidos. Desde que, allá por los años 80, lo disfrutase en el scalextric, siempre he tenido ganas de hacerme con uno. Y aquí lo tenéis. 

This magnificent car made history at Lemans. It won several years in a row and is one of my favourites. Ever since I enjoyed it on the scalextric back in the 80s, I've always wanted to get my hands on one. And here it is.

Tiene una complejidad media, diría yo. Ya que lo más complicado de diseñar en 3D, bajo mi punto de vista, son las formas redondeadas. Y tiene alguna que otra.

It has a medium complexity, I would say. The most complicated thing about designing in 3D, in my opinion, are the rounded shapes. And it has a few.

La parte trasera con los alerones y la ventilación abierta que tiene, le dan un toque muy significativo.

The rear with the spoilers and the open vents give it a very significant touch.

Fórmula 1 de Formula Dé

 

Confieso que al principio este modelo no me entusiasmó. Me parecía que el alerón era demasiado exagerado.

I confess that at first I was not enthusiastic about this model. I thought the spoiler was too exaggerated.

Pero, gracias a mi sobrino de 6 años, descubrí su  utilidad. Es muy fácil de sujetar y es un alerón robusto.

But, thanks to my 6-year-old nephew, I discovered its usefulness. It's very easy to hold and it's a sturdy wing.

Así que me animé a reproducirlo y ya ha ganado alguna que otra partida.

So I decided to play it and it has already won a game or two.

Fórmula 1 genérico

 

Lo hice por encargo y me encantó desde el primer momento. Guarda muy bien las proporciones de un fórmula 1 y fue relativamente fácil reproducirlo. 

I made it to order and I loved it from the first moment. It keeps the proportions of a formula 1 very well and it was relatively easy to reproduce. 

El modelo es de un coche original de la marca Asnodee que, desgraciadamente, ya está descatalogado.

The model is of an original Asnodee car which, unfortunately, is now discontinued.

Camión de carreras

 

Esta pieza tiene doble funcionalidad. Quería hacer un camión de carreras para Fórmula D, que la verdad no he visto que haya muchos, y por otro lado, lo quería para ambientar los circuitos y ponerlos por los boxes.

This piece has a double function. I wanted to make a racing truck for Formula D, which I haven't seen many of them, and on the other hand, I wanted it to set the atmosphere of the circuits and put them around the pits.

El modelo es el camión de CEPSA, y ha tenido mucho éxito. Ya sois muchos los que tenéis alguno por casa compitiendo en vuestras carreras. Gracias por vuestra aceptación.

The model is the CEPSA truck, and it has been very successful. Many of you already have one at home competing in your races. Thank you for your acceptance.

Tiene como accesorio el remolque que puede llevar desde dos coches hasta los contenedores que hacen las veces de boxes. Vamos, ¡todo un 2x1!

It has as an accessory the trailer that can carry from two cars to the containers that serve as boxes. In short, it's a 2 for 1!

Ford GT40

 

Otro de los modelos que me tenían cautivado desde hace años. Su diseño tan diferente lo hace muy especial para mi, y después de investigar un poco, y ver que había sido toda una leyenda de las carreras, no me pude resistir a replicarlo.

Another of the models that had captivated me for years. Its very different design makes it very special for me, and after doing some research, and seeing that it had been a racing legend, I couldn't resist replicating it.

Me resultó muy complejo, ya que era el tercer diseño en 3D que hacía en mi vida, y me dio algún que otro problema. Pero ahí está, y creo que ha quedado muy bien.

I found it very complex, as it was the third 3D design I've done in my life, and it gave me some problems. But there it is, and I think it has turned out very well.

Porsche de Catalina Santana

A Catalina Santana la descubrí en una tienda de segunda mano. Se vendía el original nuevo por 3€. No dudé ni un segundo en comprarla. Parecía que era para mi, yo no la estaba buscando, ni siquiera sabía que existía.

I discovered Catalina Santana in a second-hand shop. The original was sold new for 3€. I didn't hesitate for a second to buy it. It seemed like it was for me, I wasn't looking for it, I didn't even know it existed.

Luego descubrí que son muy difíciles de encontrar y que está muy valoradas. Por eso, y para que nadie que tenga el juego de mesa Fórmula D se quede sin su Catalina Santana, o sin que tenga que dejarse mucho dinero en tenerla, me animé ha hacer la réplica de su Porsche.

Then I discovered that they are very difficult to find and that they are highly valued. For this reason, and so that no one who has the Formula D board game will be without their Catalina Santana, or without having to spend a lot of money on it, I decided to make a replica of their Porsche.

Y claro, ya que estaba, le hice unas mejoras, como poner respaldo a los asientos, volante, retrovisores y hasta una versión con capota, para esos días de lluvia.

And of course, while I was at it, I made some improvements, like putting backrests on the seats, steering wheel, mirrors and even a version with a bonnet, for those rainy days.

Fórmula 1

¡El primero de todos! Quise empezar a diseñar en 3D con una pieza sencilla para aprender a manejar el programa de diseño. Y por sus forma geométricas tan marcadas, me pareció que un Fórmula 1 sencillo era una buena opción. 

The first of all! I wanted to start designing in 3D with a simple piece to learn how to handle the design program. And because of its geometric shapes, I thought that a simple Formula 1 was a good option. 

Conclusión

Bueno, pues hasta el día de hoy esto es lo que he creado. Llevo mes y medio metido en este mundillo del 3D y gracias a las restricciones existentes en la actualidad he sacado mucho tiempo para dedicarle a esta pasión.

Well, until today this is what I have created. I've been involved in this 3D world for a month and a half and thanks to the current restrictions I've found a lot of time to dedicate to this passion.
